Esports encompass a variety of game genres, including multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBAs), first-person shooters (FPS), real-time strategy (RTS), fighting games, and sports simulations.
  • Professional esports athletes train rigorously, akin to traditional sports professionals, and compete for substantial prize pools, sponsorships, and global recognition. The esports industry has seen exponential growth, with tournaments like the League of Legends World Championship and The International (Dota 2) drawing millions of viewers and offering multi-million dollar prizes. As the lines between traditional sports and esports continue to blur, esports have gained legitimacy and are even being considered for inclusion in major sporting events like the Olympics.
